new blogging platform
Blogger’s post editor is so bad that I’ve been promising myself to move elsewhere for quite a while. I checked on Super User what their recommendations are and they pointed mostly to Wordpress but someone there pointed here, a place I’ve never even heard of, and it really is more than a blogging platform (which was all I was actually looking for), and it does look good except for the fact that I miss the sidebar functionality which allows me to place things like favourite blogs, favourite posts, blah (look). But judging by the responses I’ve so far received, it looks like I’ll have more readers here.
One problem though is that the migration tool I used happened to be dumb, leaving my internal links unchanged to match my new home, and that’s not a small job ( I had over 300 posts).
[update] So I went over to Wordpress.com to see how it fares - the default theme is ugly as hell and doesn’t have the lively and modern touch that tumblr.com got, so it was real easy to skip.
